Delivering an innovative and exciting new climate initiative for Chesterfield Borough Council

When the team at Fenti came across the tender application for Chesterfield Borough Council’s Climate Action Now campaign, we were thrilled to contribute our multi-award-winning, comprehensive marketing strategies. Our goal was to support the council’s mission of spreading environmental awareness throughout the Chesterfield borough. With our extensive marketing expertise, we set out to deliver a full-scale branding campaign designed to engage and inspire the community.

Chesterfield Borough Council aimed to launch an innovative climate initiative that would resonate with local residents, businesses, and families. The challenge was to create a multi-channel marketing campaign that effectively communicated pro-environmental messages and encouraged both individual and collective actions. This involved developing a new brand identity for the Climate Action Now campaign that would raise awareness about climate change and offer practical solutions for everyday life.

In collaboration with Chesterfield Borough Council, we designed a comprehensive branding and marketing campaign that addressed all of their objectives. Our approach included creating a cohesive Climate Action Now identity and deploying it across various marketing platforms. This strategy allowed us to craft deliberate and impactful messages, tailored to engage different segments of the community through a variety of channels.

To reach our target audiences effectively, we developed a range of marketing assets aimed at four key demographics: working professionals, families, boomers, and businesses. Our campaign included:

• Social Media: Disseminating meaningful and impactful environmental messages across multiple social media platforms.
• Email Marketing: Engaging relevant businesses and individuals with compelling email content to motivate action.
• Digital & Printed Ads: Creating fun and engaging advertisements for both digital and print media to capture the attention of the local population.
• Direct Mail: Crafting effective copy to deliver branded guidance and resources to residents and businesses, encouraging them to take action.

To further amplify the campaign’s reach, we designed eye-catching outdoor advertising materials. This included signage for bus shelters, lamp-posts, and refuse lorries throughout the Chesterfield borough. These visual elements were strategically placed to maximise visibility and impact, reinforcing the campaign’s message and encouraging community-wide engagement with the Climate Action Now initiative.
