Announced in December 2023, Panenka Bar and Grill, an exciting new venue located within the city’s emerging Chinese Quarter, aimed to become the go-to destination for sports enthusiasts, brunch lovers and those seeking unique social experiences. The venue needed a comprehensive branding solution that would capture the spirit of its diverse offerings, from exclusive VIP sports viewing and karaoke to Sheffield’s first-ever Virtual Reality (VR) pods. With an elevated Pan-Asian dining experience and a vibrant after-dark atmosphere, Panenka required a brand identity that resonated with both male and female audiences, while also establishing itself as a premium social hub in the city.
As Panenka’s trusted marketing partner, Fenti was tasked with developing a full suite of branding materials, including a logo that would appeal to a broad audience, a cohesive brand identity for both digital and physical spaces and sub-brands for its dynamic after-dark events.
To bring Panenka’s vision to life, we undertook a multifaceted design and branding project that included a number of key elements.
Fenti’s creative team designed a logo that subtly referenced both the sporting nature of Panenka and its sophisticated drinking culture. The aim was to create a visual identity that would resonate with both male and female audiences, capturing the essence of the venue’s dual appeal. The final logo featured elegant lines and modern typography, with a nod to sports in its design, while maintaining a refined aesthetic suitable for a premium social environment.
In close collaboration with the Panenka team, Fenti facilitated brainstorming sessions to finalise the venue’s name. The chosen name, “Panenka,” was inspired by the legendary football technique, evoking both the sport and the finesse that the venue sought to embody.
We assisted in selecting and creating interior artwork finishes for walls, doors and signage throughout the venue. The goal was to ensure that the branding was seamlessly integrated into the physical space, enhancing the overall customer experience while maintaining a consistent brand narrative.
Fenti developed a full range of digital branding materials, including social media assets, TV displays, menus, posters, A-boards and hoardings during the construction phase. These assets were designed to build anticipation for Panenka’s launch and establish its presence as Sheffield’s ultimate social destination.
To further elevate Panenka’s brand awareness, we executed a strategic OOH advertising campaign along Sheffield’s Parkway, ensuring that the venue captured the attention of commuters and potential customers.
In keeping with Panenka’s core brand, Fenti created a sub-brand for the venue’s After Dark Ibiza Sessions. This new brand maintained the visual identity of Panenka while introducing a distinct, standalone aesthetic that captured the vibrant and energetic atmosphere of these special events.
The branding and marketing assets developed by Fenti were pivotal in the successful launch of Panenka, quickly establishing it as a must-visit venue in Sheffield’s New Era Square. The carefully crafted logo and cohesive branding resonated with a wide audience, while the strategic use of OOH advertising and digital media created significant buzz around the launch.
The integration of branding elements into both the physical space and digital platforms ensured a seamless customer experience from the moment guests arrived at Panenka.
Panenka’s launch was met with widespread acclaim, and the venue has since become a central hub for sports fans, foodies and nightlife enthusiasts in Sheffield, thanks in large part to the comprehensive branding and marketing efforts delivered by Fenti.
